Privacy Policy

Who is responsible

This website is run by the Robert College Research and Methodology Initiative (RMI), a student initiative at Robert College, Istanbul. RMI is responsible for the data described here, within the meaning of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

What we collect

The website has no accounts, no forms and no newsletter, and it does not ask you for any information. We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

The only personal data involved is technical data that any website receives when you load it:

• Server logs. When you request a page, our web server records your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and your browser's identification string. These logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.
• Content requests. Your browser fetches the conference content (programme, speakers, FAQ and so on) from Supabase, our database provider, which stores it in Frankfurt, Germany. Supabase therefore receives your IP address as part of that request.

Why

We use this technical data only to deliver the website, keep it secure and investigate faults or misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the website safely (KVKK Article 5(2)(f)). We do not sell or share it, and we do not use it to identify you.

Transfers abroad

Because our database provider's servers are in Germany, the IP address sent with a content request is processed outside Turkey. This happens only as far as needed to serve the page.

Applications

Applying to the conference happens through a separate application form, not this website. That form explains what it collects and how it is used in its own notice. This policy does not cover it.

Links to other sites

This website links to other sites, such as Robert College's website and our Instagram page. Their own privacy policies apply once you follow those links.

Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11 you have the right to:

• learn whether your personal data is processed, and request information about it;
• learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used for that purpose;
• know the third parties, in Turkey or abroad, to whom it is transferred;
• ask for incomplete or inaccurate data to be corrected;
• ask for it to be deleted or destroyed;
• ask for any correction or deletion to be passed on to those third parties;
• object to a result against you that arises solely from automated analysis;
• claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
